Preparing Leaders in Pharmacy
Welcome to the Idaho State University College of Pharmacy Web site. Please take time to view the various sections of our WEB. You are visiting our site at an exciting time. The College of Pharmacy has a long history at Idaho State University located in Pocatello, Idaho. We remain committed to the preparation and advancement pharmacy practitioners and pharmaceutical scholars.
The first college on campus, the College was founded in 1918. We recently opened a second center in Meridian, Idaho. The professional program, leading to a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree can now be completed in Pocatello at Leonard Hall or in the L.S. Skaggs Pharmacy complex in Meridian. With faculty at both centers and all classes taught using distance learning, students in both centers are able to interact with faculty and with one another.
If you are a Pharmacist with a Bachelor’s in Pharmacy and desire a Pharm.D., you have come to the right place. In addition to the traditional program, we offer a Non-Traditional route to the Pharm.D. Students have completed this program across the United States and the world. The Non-Traditional program has graduated over 300 students. We also offer graduate programs in the pharmaceutical sciences. Our graduate program, leading to a Master of Science or Doctor of Philosophy in Pharmaceutical Sciences, has a long and productive history.
Indeed, we are Preparing Leaders in Pharmacy. Our programs prepare students to face the future. Our students develop problem-solving skills. They are students who are involved in their own education. We expect them to be responsible for learning and to commit to be a lifelong learner. Our success in achieving our goal can be seen in the success of our alumni.
If you are an alumnus, we welcome you. Your example and your contributions to the profession serve to inspire our students. It is by your example that future pharmacists learn the meaning of caring, kindness and compassion. It is through your example that future pharmacists learn the importance of leadership. Please keep us informed of your success. You are always welcome. You are family.
